Broadcasting

I love broadcasting, and I've done everything from review movies for BBC Radio 4's live arts strand Front Row to appearing on US, Canadian and Irish Public Radio. I've also contributed to current-affairs programmes such as From Our Own Correspondent and the Today programme. As a presenter, I write and front radio documentaries and online videos, and have appeared as a specialist contributor in a number of TV documentaries, both internationally and in the UK.

Radio

In addition to making regular appearances as a reviewer and commentator on Front Row (Radio 4), Free Thinking/Night Waves (Radio 3) and various Five Live programmes, I've written and presented several documentaries and contributed to the BBC's From Our Own Correspondent and From Our Home Correspondent series.

TV

I’ve been a specialist contributor to BBC4/WGBH’s Shakespeare Uncovered TV series (2012–18) and Channel 4’s Shakespeare’s Tomb (2016).

I’ve been a panellist on the live debate programme The Big Questions (BBC1), and have often appeared live on BBC News as an arts commentator and journalist.

Online video

I’ve written and fronted a number of short arts documentaries for The Guardian, on topics including theatre, dance, design, architecture and visual art.
