I'm an award-winning journalist, podcast exec and story consultant.

In two decades of journalism, I’ve been a senior editor at The Financial Times, The Guardian and Prospect magazine, specialising in longform. I’ve also written for The New Yorker, The New York Times, Guardian Long Read, FT Magazine and many other places.

I’ve exec produced and story edited complex podcast series for the BBC and Sony, fronted my own documentaries, and consulted on development and scripting.

My most recent book is the award-winning travelogue Worlds Elsewhere: Journeys Around Shakespeare's Globe – a voyage through Shakespeare’s worldwide impact, from Bollywood to the American Wild West.

I also love teaching and live events. I’ve been an honorary fellow at Birkbeck, delivered international education projects with the British Council, and interviewed major cultural figures on stage.
